    Responsibilities

    The Bankruptcy Ledger Specialist is responsible for completing and monitoring ledgers through the Bankruptcy process on residential mortgage loans to minimize potential losses and preserve the lien-holder’s interests. 

     

    What you’ll do:

    • Executes and completes ledgers, with a high degree of accuracy, for all Bankruptcy processes including Acquisitions, Proof of Claims, Notice of Final Cures, Motions for Relief, Agreed Orders, Notices of Default and Closings and coordinates corrections as necessary on any Bankruptcy Chapters.
    • Verifies/researches borrower payment history and resolves payment posting discrepancies (i.e. Ledger Balancing).
    • Receives and responds to incoming calls from bankruptcy attorneys and/or other interested parties with inquiries regarding residential mortgage accounts in the bankruptcy process.
    • Responds to inquiries from internal departments regarding bankruptcy related issues. Handles highly escalated inquiries.
    • Provide management with recommended solutions to bankruptcy agreements or disputes.
    • Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.

    Qualifications

    What you’ll need:

    • High school diploma or equivalent work experience plus three (3)+ years ledger or accounting experience or a Bachelor’s degree in related field (Preferably Accounting or Finance)
    •  Experience in a bankruptcy role in the banking, finance or mortgage industry is preferred
