    Responsibilities

    The Financial Systems Analyst will be responsible for engaging with the business to gather documentation requirements, perform analysis and design implementation solutions.  Will be deeply involved throughout the solution development lifecycle as a subject matter expert for the requirements.  Provide analytic support for other functions within Finance and Accounting, including but not limited to data management, application testing, and fielding ad hoc data requests.  

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

     

    •  Partner closely with management, end-users and IT in the analysis of business requirements to deliver effective reporting/automation solutions.
    • Gather and document business requirements, formulate use cases, track requirements, provide status updates and ensure quality of solution throughout the project lifecycle.
    • Provide end-users with business process and procedure documentation and basic training materials to utilize the business solutions implemented
    • Build and maintain databases for use by Accounting and Finance
    • Through the use of various data retrieval techniques, the ability to provide users with data in a format that is easy to use and quick.  Data is located in various locations, i.e. vendor websites and vendor API’s, excel spreadsheets, and SQL Databases.
    •  Utilize various tools such as SQL Server, SSRS, VBA, MS Access, and Excel for data analysis and reporting to increase business efficiencies.
    •  Make recommendations, test, and implement systems, reporting, and process improvements.

     

    Qualifications

    ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND COMPETENCIES:

     

     

    ·         Advanced working knowledge of Excel and VBA

    ·         Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL including T-SQL programming

    ·         Working knowledge of the following techniques within VBA: ADO, DAO, ODBC, Data Aggregation, Loops, Arrays

    ·         Strong analytical, problem solving, collaboration and technical skills

    ·         Ability to understand, remember, and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information

    ·         Ability to understand, remember, and communicate routine, factual information

    ·         Ability to apply common sense in performing job

    ·         Ability to make decisions that have impact on the department’s credibility, operations, and services

    ·         Ability to organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology

    ·         Ability to organize and prioritize own work schedule on short-term and long-term basis

    ·         Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

     

    ·         High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in Business/Computer Sciences, Accounting or related field preferred.

    ·         Minimum two (2) years’ experience in a data analytics or similar role.

    ·         Minimum two (2) years’ of finance/accounting experience

    ·         Minimum two (2) years’ Residential Mortgage Servicing Industry experience or Financial Services preferred.

    ·         Working knowledge Hyperion Essbase, Monarch Datawatch, Power BI, Tabelau and/or SSRS preferred

    ·         A strong working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), including internal control systems, and Generally Accepted Auditing Standards, preferred.
